Abstract: This article consists of the study of land use and occupation in Novo Horizonte do Norte MT using Remote Sensing and Geoprocessing techniques for mapping changes in land use and occupation that occurred between 1986 and 2020. The municipality of Novo Horizonte do Norte goes through perspectives of increasing the area destined to large-scale agriculture, as a result the tendency is that there is a substitution of areas destined to pastures for the use of agriculture, thus the delimitation for the research of the useful area of land use of the area of study was organized by: livestock, agriculture, forest and urban area. It was concluded that the municipality has more than 68% of its territory deforested, destined for agriculture and livestock, and most of the deforestation occurred between the years 1986 and 2000.
