Abstract: The management of an electricity grid has undergone changes over the years with the advance of renewable resources. Due to the existing technology, the consumer has control of their electricity consumption, influencing the different operating conditions when they need flexible resources for the reliability of the network. Soon, the INTERNATION Organization for Standardization (ISO) created scenarios for the future of liquid load curves by observing such changes. In a GDFV the load curves have variations and, from these variations, a phenomenon called the Duck Curve is denoted. The Duck Curve is characterized by the fall of the net load (ramp down) during the middle of the day, when the maximum peak of electricity generation occurs by solar panels. This curve refers to an exorbitant portion of the load to be served by distributed generation during part of the day, causing a sharp drop in the supply of other sources of the electrical system and causing a resumption in the hot hours (ramp up) and, thus, cause damage to the electricity network. The aim of this study is to evaluate the impacts of GDFV on load curves, more precisely, the Duck Curve, which impacts the electrical system. As a methodology, several studies were carried out, with references from articles, master and doctoral theses, and books. Through simulations, it was possible to make the necessary comparatives and indicate solutions to the duck curve problem, through the insertion of a storage system with batteries.
