ANALISE DO FATOR GÊNERO NOS CURSOS TÉCNICOS DO INSTITUTO METRÓPOLE DIGITAL NO POLO DA UFERSA CÂMPUS MOSSORÓ
Atualmente, cursos de Educação a Distância possuem relevante adesão do
público feminino, todavia, as escolhas pelos cursos dão-se, em sua maioria, na área de
humanas. A força de pesquisa acerca da relação histórica entre o sexo feminino e a área
supracitada, centralizam-se no espaço da educação superior, portanto, o presente trabalho
se constrói na necessidade de levantar dados sobre o gênero feminino no âmbito de cursos
profissionalizantes de nível médio na modalidade Educação a Distância. O Instituto
Metrópole Digital no polo da UFERSA Câmpus Mossoró é o espaço onde a pesquisa, de
caráter qualitativo, foi desenvolvida, por dispor de cursos técnicos em tecnologia da
informação, na modalidade Educação a Distância semipresencial, representando a área de
exatas. A amostra possui 163 discentes com matrículas ativas no semestre 2016.1 e dentre
eles apenas 26 são do sexo feminino. A baixa adesão aos cursos técnicos na área de exatas
e tecnológicas é um fator que acorda com as literaturas pertinentes a questão da mulher e
suas escolhas profissionais ao longo da história. A respeito da permanência das mulheres
no curso, o teste não paramétrico de Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney não apresentou correlação
entre a questão do gênero e a evasão, portanto, o foco de políticas pedagógicas
institucionais em relação à questão feminina deve ser desenvolvida pontuando-se a partir
da escolha pelo curso, a fim de desconstruir paradigmas culturais onde há um gênero
específico para cada área de atuação profissional.

Abstract:
Nowadays, Distance Education courses have a significant participation by
the female public, however, the choices for the courses are mostly in the area of
humanities. The research force about the historical relationship between the female
sex and the aforementioned area, centered on the space of higher education,
therefore, the present work is built on the need to collect data on the female gender
in the scope of vocational courses at the intermediate level in the Distance Education
modality. The Instituto Metrópole Digital at UFERSA Câmpus Mossoró is the place
where research, of a qualitative nature, was developed, by having technical courses
in information technology, in the form of Distance Learning, representing the exact
area. The sample has 163 students with active registrations in the semester 2016.1
and among them only 26 are female. The low adherence to the technical courses in
the area of exact and technological is a factor that agrees with the pertinent
literatures the question of women and their professional choices throughout history.
Regarding the permanence of the women in the course, Wilcoxon-Mann-Whitney's
non-parametric test did not present a correlation between gender and avoidance,
therefore, the focus of institutional pedagogical policies regarding the feminine
question should be developed by scoring from the choice of the course, in order to
deconstruct cultural paradigms where there is a specific gender for each area of
professional performance.
