Abstract: The paper addresses the analysis of consumer behavior in the fuel market in the city of Nampula, Mozambique. The research investigated various aspects that influence consumers' purchasing decisions, including fuel prices, loyalty programs, fuel station locations, fuel quality, customer service, and station reputation. Methodologically, a quantitative approach was used, with data collected through questionnaires applied to a sample of 20 consumers in the city. The results indicated that fuel price is the most determining factor in the purchase decision, followed by loyalty programs and discounts offered by the stations. Station location was also considered important, while fuel quality, customer service, and station reputation had less prominence in the analyzed sample. The study contributes to a better understanding of consumer behavior in the fuel market in Nampula, Mozambique, providing valuable insights for companies in the sector looking to improve their marketing strategies and customer service.
