Abstract: With the increasing demand for electric power in urban centers and industrial sectors, the development of materials with suitable properties and economic viability is essential for the expansion of power transmission and distribution networks. In this context, the objective of this study was to analyze the tensile strength limit (TSL) behavior of a binary aluminum (Al) alloy with the addition of 1% nickel (Ni). The alloy was cast, and after solidification, samples were sectioned for tensile testing in accordance with the NBR 6810 standard. The results showed that the addition of Ni led to a 36.88% increase in TSL compared to pure Al. Therefore, it was found that the addition of Ni improved the mechanical properties of the alloy.
