Este trabalho abordará as estratégias de negação, no caso o uso do advérbio não, na comunidade de Santa Maria do Engano, Alfredo Chaves-ES. Foram selecionadas vinte entrevistas do corpus formado por Fiorin (2019). Buscaremos descrever, especificamente, como ocorre os mecanismos de negação: a frequência de uso, se é um elemento fixo na sentença e se está ocorrendo um processo de desgaste fonológico e de gramaticalização. A análise, de cunho qualitativo, baseia-se na teoria Sociolinguística Variacionista (LABOV, 2008 [1972]) e Funcionalista (HOPPER & TRAUGOTT, (1993), GIVÓN, (1995) E BRAGA (1987, 1991), apresentando, também, alguns resultados sobre a variável em questão (FURTADO DA CUNHA,1996; RONCARATI 1996; BRAGA E SILVA, 2011; REIMANN E YACOVENCO 2014; PEREIRA, 2018). Os resultados evidenciaram que o não é mais efetivo na posição pré-verbal, sendo um elemento fixo na sentença, próximo ao verbo, adjetivo e advérbio. Além disso, está ocorrendo um processo de gramaticalização e desgaste fonológico quando se trata da variante né.

  • Abstract: This work will address the negation strategies, in this case the use of the adverb not, in the community of Santa Maria do Engano, Alfredo Chaves-ES. To this end, twenty interviews were selected from the corpus formed by Fiorin (2019). We seek to describe, specifically, how negation mechanisms occur: the frequency of use, if it is a fixed element in the sentence and if a process of phonological wear and grammaticalization is taking place. The qualitative analysis is based on the Variationist (LABOV, 2008 [1972]) and Functionalist (HOPPER & TRAUGOTT, (1993), GIVÓN, (1995) AND BRAGA (1987, 1991) Sociolinguistic theory. some results on the variable in question (FURTADO DA CUNHA, 1996; RONCARATI 1996; BRAGA E SILVA, 2011; REIMANN AND YACOVENCO 2014; PEREIRA, 2018). The results showed that no is more effective in the pre-verbal position, being a fixed element in the sentence, next to the verb, adjective and adverb. In addition, a process of grammaticalization and phonological erosion is taking place when it comes to the né variant.
