ANÁLISE DAS FORMAS DE CONTAMINAÇÃO PELA DOENÇA DE CHAGAS
A doença de Chagas representa uma condição
infecciosa classificada como enfermidade
negligenciada pela Organização Mundial da
Saúde. É uma zoonose que tem como agente
etiológico o protozoário Trypanosoma cruzi. No
Brasil e em vários países da América Latina a
principal via de transmissão em áreas urbanas
é atualmente a transfusional. O objetivo desta
pesquisa é investigar as diversas formas
de contaminação pela Doença de Chagas.
Realizou-se uma revisão da literatura, com
base em artigos da MEDLINE, LILACS e
SCIELO, utilizando-se os descritores: Doença
de Chagas, Transmissão e seres humanos.
Em síntese, foram localizados 331 arquivos,
desses, foram selecionados os artigos de
2013 a 2018, idioma português e inglês, textos
gratuitos disponíveis na íntegra, pesquisas em
humanos e apenas no Brasil, resultando em 13
artigos para a produção do presente estudo.
As formas básicas de transmissão da doença
de Chagas humana (DCH) correspondem
à contaminação pelo vetor, à transmissão
pela transfusão de sangue e à via congênita.
Consideram-se alternativas as demais vias
descritas como a via oral, por transplantes de
órgãos, via acidental e sexual. Com os avanços
no controle dos vetores domiciliares e rigorosa
seleção de doadores de sangue em toda a
área endêmica, as vias alternativas cresceram
de importância. Inclusive, pelos fenômenos de
globalização e migrações internacionais, têm
oportunizado casos novos de DCH em países
não endêmicos. Portanto, a mudança dos
padrões epidemiológicos da doença no país
demandou a necessidade de estruturação da
Vigilância Epidemiológica de Chagas no país
visando melhorias nas ações de prevenção e
controle.

Abstract:
Chagas disease represents an infectious
condition classified as a disease neglected by
the World Health Organization. It is a zoonosis
that has as etiological agent the protozoan
Trypanosoma cruzi. In Brazil and in several
Latin American countries, the main route
of transmission in urban areas is currently
transfusion. The objective of this research is to
investigate the different forms of contamination
by Chagas Disease. A review of the literature
was carried out, based on MEDLINE, LILACS
and SCIELO articles, using the descriptors:
Chagas disease, Transmission and humans.
In summary, 331 files were found, of which,
the articles from 2013 to 2018, Portuguese
and English were selected, free texts available
in full, research in humans and only in Brazil,
resulting in 13 articles for the production of the
present study. The basic forms of transmission
of human Chagas’ disease (HCW) correspond
to vector contamination, transmission by blood
transfusion and the congenital pathway. The
other pathways described as the oral route,
through organ transplants, accidental and sexual
pathways are considered alternatives. With
advances in the control of home vectors and
rigorous selection of blood donors throughout
the endemic area, alternative pathways have
grown in importance. In addition, due to the
phenomena of globalization and international
migration, new cases of HCW have been
provided in non-endemic countries. Therefore,
the change in the epidemiological patterns of the
disease in the country demanded the need of
structuring the Epidemiological Surveillance of
Chagas in the country aiming at improvements
in prevention and control actions.
