Abstract: This paper analyzes the categories of Álvaro Vieira Pinto’s thought and his contributions to education and national development. The research problem lies in understanding how the theoretical foundations developed by the author can support the construction of an educational and scientific project committed to social emancipation and national sovereignty. This issue is justified by the need to rescue a Brazilian philosophical perspective that remains relevant to the current challenges faced by education. The main objective of this study is to identify and discuss the key categories developed by Vieira Pinto—such as critical consciousness, technology, national science, and nation-building—highlighting their implications for educational practices. To achieve this goal, the research employed bibliographic review methods, analyzing books, scientific articles, and academic journals focused on his work. The study revealed that the categories proposed by Vieira Pinto provide a solid foundation for a critical pedagogy oriented toward overcoming alienation, fostering intellectual autonomy, and strengthening national development. It also demonstrated that his ideas offer significant contributions to educational practices aiming at social transformation and epistemological independence. The findings point to the relevance of further exploring his work in academic contexts, promoting the development of a critical, autonomous, and socially committed educational perspective.
