ANÁLISE DA PREVALÊNCIA DO ALEITAMENTO MATERNO EXCLUSIVO NA ÁREA DE ABRANGÊNCIA DA UBS VÁRZEA - PATOS DE MINAS, MG.
O leite materno atende plenamente aos aspectos nutricionais, imunológicos, psicológicos e ao crescimento e desenvolvimento adequado de uma criança no primeiro ano de vida, período de grande vulnerabilidade para saúde da criança. Diante disso, a Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) e o Ministério da Saúde recomendam aleitamento materno exclusivo (AME) por seis meses e complementado até os dois anos ou mais. Objetivando verificar a prevalência atual do aleitamento materno exclusivo até os seis meses na população de abrangência da Unidade de Atenção Primária à Saúde Várzea, na cidade de Patos de Minas – MG, o presente estudo foi realizado no período de agosto a novembro de 2017. Foram entrevistadas por meio de um questionário individual semiestruturado com perguntas fechadas 28 mães que frequentam esta unidade de saúde. A partir da análise dos dados obtidos, das 28 crianças analisadas, 13 (46%) receberam aleitamento exclusivo até os seis meses, enquanto 15 (54%) introduziram algum outro tipo de leite, água ou chás antes dessa idade. Entretanto, observou-se que grande parte dos motivos de desmame precoce relatados são modificáveis. Conclui-se que há necessidade de realização de projeto de intervenção direcionado à promoção do aleitamento materno na comunidade estudada.

Abstract:
Breast milk fully addresses the nutritional, immunological, and psychological aspects and the growth and proper development of a child in the first year of life, a period of great vulnerability to the child's health. Given this, the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Ministry of Health recommend exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) for six months and supplemented up to two years or more. Aiming to verify the current prevalence of exclusive breastfeeding up to six months in the population covered by the Primary Health Care Unit in Várzea, in the city of Patos de Minas - MG, this study was conducted from August to November 2017. interviewed through a semi-structured questionnaire with closed questions 28 mothers attending this health unit. From the analysis of the obtained data, of the 28 children analyzed, 13 (46%) received exclusive breastfeeding until six months, while 15 (54%) introduced some other type of milk, water or teas before this age. However, it was observed that most of the reasons for early weaning reported are modifiable. It is concluded that there is a need for an intervention project directed to the promotion of breastfeeding in the studied community.
