ANÁLISE DA PREVALÊNCIA DE VITIMIZAÇÃO DE BULLYING ENTRE MENINOS E MENINAS EM UMA ESCOLA PÚBLICA DA CIDADE DE FORTALEZA
O presente artigo tem como objetivo
principal analisar a prevalência de vitimização
de bullying entre meninos e meninas. Assim,
para alcançar este objetivo, realizou-se uma
pesquisa em uma escola pública da cidade
de Fortaleza. Participaram 219 adolescentes
com idades entre 11 e 19 anos (M = 13,37;
DP = 1,55), cursando entre o 6º e o 9º ano do
ensino fundamental. Estes responderam um
inquérito epidemiológico, além de perguntas
de caráter sociodemográfico. Os resultados
encontrados mostram que a prevalência de
bullying identificada no estudo foi de 16,7%
(se somado as categorias: grande parte do
tempo e sempre), sendo mais frequente no
sexo feminino. Dentre as causas/motivos do
bullying, a maior frequência de vitimização foi
relacionada à aparência do corpo (29,6%),
seguida da aparência do rosto (23,1%), raça/
cor (11,3%), a alternativa “outras opções”
apareceu com 54,6%. Em seguida, foram os
jovens questionados através de uma pergunta
aberta, quais seriam esses “outros motivos”. As
respostas dos jovens foram analisadas através
de uma análise de conteúdo. Os resultados
obtidos são semelhantes aos encontrados
em outros contextos socioculturais. Esperase
que o presente artigo possa contribuir para
o entendimento da violência escolar e da
exclusão social dos jovens, de modo a pensar
em estratégias de intervenção ou políticas
educacionais que combatam esse fenômeno.

Abstract:
The main objective of this
article is to analyze the prevalence of bullying
victimization among boys and girls. Thus, to
reach this objective, a research was carried out
in a public school in the city of Fortaleza. A total
of 219 teenagers between the ages of 11 and 19
(M = 13.37, SD = 1.55) were enrolled in the 6th to
9th grade. These answered an epidemiological
inquiry, as well as sociodemographic questions.
The results show that the prevalence of bullying
identified in the study was 16.7% (if we added
the categories: most of the time and always),
being more frequent in the female sex. Among the causes/reasons for bullying, the
highest frequency of victimization was related to body appearance (29.6%), followed
by face appearance (23.1%), race/color (11.3%), “Other options” appeared with 54.6%.
Then it was the young people questioned through an open question, what would be
these “other reasons”. The teenager’s responses were analyzed through a content
analysis. The results obtained are similar to those found in other sociocultural contexts.
It is hoped that this article can contribute to the understanding of school violence and
social exclusion of young people, in order to think about intervention strategies or
educational policies that combat this phenomenon.
