ANÁLISE DA POLÍTICA DE DISPOSIÇÃO DOS RESÍDUOS SÓLIDOS NO MUNICÍPIO DE CANÁPOLIS-MG
Grande importância deve ser
direcionada quando o assunto se refere a
um tema tão discutido e relevante quando se
trata da questão dos resíduos sólidos, pois
grandes são as consequências causadas em
função dos impactos ambientais. O município
de Canápolis-MG, que juntamente com mais
sete municípios (Monte Alegre de Minas, Prata,
Centralina, Araporã, Ituiutaba, Gurinhatã e
Santa Vitória) compõem o CIDES – Consórcio
Público Intermunicipal de Desenvolvimento
Sustentável do Triângulo Mineiro e Alto
Paranaíba que possui o Plano de Gestão
Integrada de Resíduos Sólidos – PGIRS, com
propostas de diretrizes, ações e metas para a
gestão adequada dos resíduos sólidos. Esse
artigo visa a análise da situação atual da gestão
dos resíduos sólidos municipais, de acordo com
as necessidades para a recuperação da área
do aterro sanitário, da integração da educação
ambiental e dos impactos ambientais causados
no município de acordo com os levantamentos,
pesquisas e trabalhos de campo para verificar
o cenário atual em relação aos resíduos sólidos
municipais. Constatou-se que no município
não houve avanços no sentido de implantar as
propostas do PGIRS e que a área de descarte
dos resíduos sólidos se caracteriza como lixão
a céu aberto, sem nenhum controle ambiental.
As ações de educação ambiental para a coleta
seletiva e a organização dos catadores são
incipientes assim como não se efetivou esforços
dos gestores públicos para a implantação do
Plano de Recuperação de Áreas DegradadasPRAD e do Projeto do novo Parque Sanitário
Municipal.

Abstract:
Great importance should be
directed when the subject refers to a topic so
discussed and relevant when it comes to the
issue of solid waste, because great are the
consequences caused by the environmental
impacts. The municipality of Canápolis-MG,
which together with seven other municipalities
(Monte Alegre de Minas, Prata, Centralina,
Araporã, Ituiutaba, Gurinhatã and Santa
Vitória) make up CIDES - Intermunicipal Public
Consortium for Sustainable Development of the
Triângulo Mineiro and Alto Paranaíba, which has
the Integrated Solid Waste Management Plan -
PGIRS, with proposals for guidelines, actions

and targets for the adequate management of solid waste. This article aims to analyze
the current situation of municipal solid waste management, according to the needs
for the recovery of the landfill area, the integration of environmental education and
the environmental impacts caused in the municipality according to surveys, research
and work field to verify the current scenario in relation to municipal solid waste.
It was verified that in the municipality there were no advances in the sense of implanting
the proposals of the PGIRS and that the area of solid waste disposal is characterized
as open pit, without any environmental control. The actions of environmental education
for the selective collection and the organization of the collectors are incipient as well
as the efforts of the public managers for the implementation of the Plan of Recovery of
Degraded Areas - PRAD and of the Project of the new Municipal Sanitary Park.
