ANÁLISE DA IMPORTÂNCIA DO CORRETO DIMENSIONAMENTO DOS VERTEDORES EM BARRAGENS E SUAS INFLUÊNCIAS ECOLÓGICAS E SOCIOECONÔMICAS. ESTUDO DE CASO: USINA HIDRELÉTRICA DE XINGÓ
O presente trabalho, o qual traz à
tona aspectos de cunho social, econômico
e ecológico, que tanto um dimensionamento
errôneo quanto a não abertura do mesmo
pode culminar na sociedade que margeia tal
construção. Dentre os objetivos específicos, a
pesquisa busca indagar questões que respaldam
as entrelinhas desta “monografia”, os quais
são: Explicar a importância dos vertedores em
barragens; destacar as devidas consequências
de um mal dimensionamento; explicar os
pontos que devem ser observados antes de
realizar o dimensionamento; relação barragem
e geração de energia. Para a realização dos
estudos, inicialmente houve a necessidade de
explorar bibliografias na temática pertinente ao
projeto e, posteriormente o deslocamento do
autor para coleta de dados in loco, visitando
instituições de respaldo e conversando com
figuras importantes, ao qual, uma delas
marcou a história do nordeste brasileiro com
suas lutas a fim de ajudar na preservação do
Rio São Francisco. As construções interferem
diretamente na sociedade, chegando até a causar
alterações no aspecto cultural, interferindo em
questões econômicas e o quanto entrelaça-se
com os assuntos ambientais. Perceber que as
estruturas hidráulicas vão além de uma gigante
estrutura de concreto que controla a vazão
da água ou estruturas menores que permitem
a passagem da mesma, torna o estudo ainda
mais gratificante, pois consuma a ideia de que
a responsabilidade do engenheiro é muito mais
do que projetar e acompanhar execução de
obras, este encontra-se intitulado à construção
de um futuro melhor, tanto para a nossa geração
quanto para as que estão por vir.

Abstract:
The present work, which brings to the fore aspects of social, economic
and ecological aspects, that both an erroneous design and the non-opening of it
can culminate in the society that borders on such construction. Among the specific
objectives, the research seeks to ask questions that support the lines between this
“monograph”, which are: Explain the importance of spillways in dams; highlight the
consequences of poor design; explain the points that must be observed before carrying
out the sizing; relation dam and power generation. In order to carry out the studies, it
was initially necessary to explore bibliographies on the pertinent themes of the project
and, later on, the author’s movement for data collection in loco, visiting institutions of
support and talking with important figures, to which one of them marked the history
of the Brazilian northeast with its struggles in order to help in the preservation of the
São Francisco River. The constructions interfere directly in the society, even causing
changes in the cultural aspect, interfering in economic questions and how much it
interweaves with the environmental subjects. Realizing that hydraulic structures go
beyond a giant concrete structure that controls the flow of water or smaller structures
that allow the passage of water, makes the study even more rewarding, as it consumes
the idea that the engineer’s responsibility is much more than who design and monitor
the execution of works, this one is entitled to the construction of a better future, both for
our generation and for those that are to come.
