• Abstract: Pork production has been gaining more space in the country's production chain every year and becoming a very profitable activity. Raising these animals has always been a challenge, due to our tropical climate. Pig behavior is directly related to temperature. When this temperature deviates from ideal parameters, the animal enters a state of stress. Over time and through several studies, it has become easier to understand and, above all, to adopt management practices aimed at well-being, in addition to the ideal structural aspects for a favorable environment. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze the environment and well-being and the impact that these factors have on the temperature and behavior of these animals, directly interfering with productivity. This chapter, aiming to achieve the established objective, is divided into topics, which are: pigs, homeothermy, heat stress: physiological changes, heat stress: behavioral changes, animal welfare, behavioral criteria, physiological criteria, management criteria and environment.
