ALTERANDO REALIDADES A PARTIR DA LINGUAGEM MABRAK: UMA TRADUÇÃO COMENTADA
Num primeiro momento, busca-se organizar um argumento sobre linguagem e a construção de realidades a partir de um olhar idealista, sem ignorar ou invalidar qualquer materialismo. Aceitando-se que a linguagem tem ao menos um papel importante nessas construções, o artigo indaga se os produtos de tais construções poderiam ser alterados de alguma forma a partir da linguagem. Em seguida, parte-se para uma breve contextualização histórica do movimento rastafari na Jamaica e a sua luta por uma identidade usando de criações e reformulações da linguagem. Por fim, propõe-se uma tradução de um poema oral sobre o rastafari, linguagem e identidade, publicado em 1971, criado por Bongo Jerry, artista jamaicano adepto do movimento.

Abstract:
At first, this paper seeks to compile a reasoning on language and the construction of realities based on an idealist viewpoint, without disregard to any kind of materialism. Accepting language has at least an important role on those constructions, this paper inquires if the products of such constructions could be altered somehow by modifying language. Then, there’s a short historical contextualization of the Rastafari movement in Jamaica and its struggle in a language-adapting search for identity. Lastly, this paper offers a translation of an oral poem on Rastafari, language and identity, published in 1971, created by Bongo Jerry, a Jamaican artist within the movement
