ALTERAÇÕES MORFOLÓGICAS OBSERVADAS EM TESTÍCULO ECTÓPICO DE CÃO COM CRIPTORQUIDISMO UNILATERAL
O criptorquidismo é definido como a não descida de um ou ambos os testículos para a posição anatômica ideal, é considerada a anormalidade testicular mais comum em cães, algumas raças possuem predisposição, como Poodle Toy e Yorkshire Terrier. Um cão, macho, sem raça definida, 11 anos e 5 Kg foi atendido no Centro Veterinário apresentando comportamento normal, temperatura corporal de 38.8°C, com histórico de aumento de volume testicular localizado na região inguinal, na anamnese, foi constatado que o testículo encontrava-se aumentado há alguns meses, o animal apresentava lambedura excessiva e prurido local, foi diagnosticado testículo ectópico esquerdo em região inguinal, enquanto o direito se encontrava na bolsa escrotal, e indicado para orquiectomia bilateral terapêutica, após exames complementares, realizou-se a exérese das gônadas, que se apresentavam de tamanhos diferentes, o testículo localizado na região inguinal estava aumentado e ambos foram encaminhados para análise histopatológica. Macroscopicamente, a primeira amostra apresentava fragmentos firmes e brancacentos com focos pardos e a segunda era semelhante, mas não apresentava os pontos pardos. Na avaliação microscópica, apresentou morfologia celular com alterações compatíveis com seminoma difuso, que será descrito ao longo do relato. A Literatura aponta a orquiectomia como a melhor forma de tratamento de criptorquidismo, pois além de prevenir a propagação dessa característica genética para próximas gerações, evita o desenvolvimento de neoplasias e torções testiculares, além dos outros benefícios próprios da castração.

Abstract:
Cryptorchidism is defined as the failure of one or both testicles to descend to their ideal anatomical position. It is considered the most common testicular abnormality in dogs, and certain breeds such as Toy Poodles and Yorkshire Terriers are predisposed to it. An 11-year-old, 5 kg mixed-breed male dog was presented at the Veterinary Center with normal behavior and a body temperature of 38.8°C. The dog had a history of an enlarged testicular volume in the inguinal region, which had been present for a few months. The dog exhibited excessive licking and local itching. A diagnosis of left ectopic testicle in the inguinal region and a normally descended right testicle in the scrotal sac was made during the anamnesis. Bilateral therapeutic orchiectomy was recommended, and after further examinations, the gonads, which were of different sizes, were excised and sent for histopathological analysis. Macroscopically, the first sample showed firm, whitish fragments with brown spots, while the second sample was similar but did not have the brown spots. Microscopic evaluation revealed cellular morphology consistent with diffuse seminoma, which will be described further in the report. The literature supports orchiectomy as the best treatment for cryptorchidism because it not only prevents the inheritance of this genetic characteristic in future generations but also prevents the development of neoplasms and testicular torsion, in addition to the other benefits associated with castration.
