• Abstract: This article deals with the possibility of changing the name in the civil registry of transgender people directly at the registry offices. The research problem addressed is the difficulty faced by transgender people in changing their civil registry to reflect their self-declared gender identity. The hypothesis is that allowing the direct change in the registry offices can speed up and facilitate this process. The objectives of this study are to analyze the main difficulties encountered by transgenders in the process of changing the civil registry, to investigate the existing laws and regulations on the subject, and to evaluate the impacts of the possibility of direct alteration in the registry offices. The justification for this work lies in the need to promote inclusion and respect for the gender identity of transgender people, recognizing their right to be identified according to their gender identity. The methodology used will be bibliographical research, which will consist of the analysis of laws, regulations, jurisprudence and academic studies on the subject. A systematic review of the literature will be carried out to obtain a comprehensive overview of existing approaches to changing the transgender civil registry.
