Abstract: Protected horticulture offers various benefits to farmers, including better control of environmental conditions for optimal plant development and more efficient use of resources such as energy. This enables consistent production throughout the year, enhancing profitability and sustainability over time. Despite the significance of energy, few small-scale farmers have implemented measures, practices, and technologies to enhance its use. Currently, there are options to improve energy management, which must be tailored to the specific needs of crops, external climatic conditions, and the production objectives of the horticulturist.
