ALEITAMENTO MATERNO EM UNIDADE DE TERAPIA INTENSIVA NEONATAL: PERCEPÇÃO DAS MÃES
Objetivo: compreender como acontece a prática do aleitamento materno no contexto da Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal (UTIN) a partir do olhar das mães. Método: estudo qualitativo e descritivo, numa UTIN de maternidade pública. Os dados foram coletados por meio da entrevista semiestruturada e observação direta. Foram entrevistadas sete mães de recém-nascidos internados na UTIN. A partir da Análise de Conteúdo, emergiram três categorias. Resultados: apesar de um tema cotidiano, as mães ainda têm dificuldade em definir o aleitamento materno e, em sua maioria, o relacionam exclusivamente com a amamentação. Existem dificuldades dessa prática e algumas facilidades como a parceria do banco de leite e atuação da equipe de enfermagem ficaram evidentes. Conclusão: é preciso aprimorar a prática do aleitamento no contexto da UTIN, sugere-se a capacitação profissional sobre o tema, além da formação de grupos de mães nesse ambiente.

Abstract:
Objective: to understand how the practice of breastfeeding happens in the context of the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) from the mothers' perspective. Method: qualitative and descriptive study, in a public maternity NICU. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and direct observation. Seven mothers of newborns admitted to the NICU were interviewed. From the Content Analysis, three categories emerged. Results: despite a daily theme, mothers still have difficulty defining breastfeeding and, for the most part, relate it exclusively to breastfeeding. There are difficulties in this practice and some facilities such as the partnership between the milk bank and of the nursing team performance were evident. Conclusion: it is necessary to improve the practice of breastfeeding in the context of the NICU, professional training on the topic is suggested, in addition to the formation of groups of mothers in this environment.
