Abstract: The project is justified by the need to break with the invisibility and structural racism that permeate Indigenous culture in schools. The initiative values the identity, culture, and struggle of the Omágua/Kambeba people, strengthening their sense of belonging and preserving the waters of the streams. The method involves discussion groups and playful activities, such as storytelling and visual arts production. Research shows that children, when involved, develop a critical and empathetic outlook, perceiving the Indigenous presence as alive and essential. In short, the results prove that environmental education and addressing Indigenous issues from childhood are effective in promoting a fair education, valuing diversity and the history of resistance of Indigenous peoples.
