Abstract: This work presents an evaluation of the book Eduardo Jordão, Lucas Thevenard and Bernardo Schwaitzer, which offers empirical research on the institutional maturity of state regulatory agencies. The book's analysis presents a perspective of regulatory maturity and not just institutional maturity. The work directs its focus on four aspects of the research contained in the book to clarify that the premises brought by scholars in their book do not constitute a model of maturity, demonstrating the fallacies that the book presents when trying to evaluate the maturity of state regulatory agencies. It is argued that the thesis presented presents unsustainable bases, which compromises the result of the proposed scope.
