AGÊNCIAS DE DESENVOLVIMENTO REGIONAL (DO OESTE) DE SANTA CATARINA: ANÁLISE SÓCIO ECONÔMICA DO PERÍODO DE 2000 A 2010.
O objetivo geral que permeou este
estudo consistiu na realização de uma análise
dos indicadores oficiais sobre o desenvolvimento
sócio econômico (durante o período de 2000 e
2010) da região compreendida por 12 Agências
de Desenvolvimento Regional da região Oeste
catarinense no período em que configuravam
como Secretarias de Desenvolvimento Regional.
Buscou-se fazer uma análise dos indicadores
oficiais (IBGE) disponíveis da região Oeste de
Santa Catarina tendo como referência os anos
2000 e 2010 a fim de se aconteceram melhorias
nos índices e quais as áreas que necessitam
mais atenção da população e dos gestores
públicos. Constatou-se que os resultados dos
104 municípios da região Oeste catarinense
apresentaram melhoria no ano de 2010
comparativamente aos mesmos resultados do
ano 2000. Percebeu-se, especialmente, que na
região o número de pessoas com faixa etária
superior a 60 anos subiu nos últimos 10 anos,
observando as alterações registradas em nível
nacional. Outros resultados importantes foram
observados nos índices de taxa de fecundidade
total (que apresentou diminuição) e na dimensão
Educação do IDH, cujos resultados estão abaixo
das médias nacional e estadual. Concluiu-se
que uma observação e acompanhamento por
parte de órgãos públicos e instituições privadas
se fazem necessária, a fim de se obter um
melhor posicionamento de ações no que diz
respeito à promoção de políticas e práticas para
o desenvolvimento regional direcionadas para
essa região. A melhoria na qualidade de vida,
que teve como conseqüência o aumento na
expectativa de vida da população faz com que
os resultados obtidos possam ser justificados.

Abstract:
The general objective of this
study was to carry out an analysis of the official
indicators on the socioeconomic development
(during the period of 2000 and 2010) of the region comprised of 12 Regional Development Agencies of the western region of Santa
Catarina in the period in which they formed as Secretaries of Regional Development.
An analysis was made of the official indicators (IBGE) available in the western region of
Santa Catarina, with reference to the years 2000 and 2010, in order to improve indexes
and which areas need more attention from the population and public managers. It was
verified that the results of the 104 municipalities of the West region of Santa Catarina
showed improvement in the year 2010 compared to the same results of the year 2000.
It was noticed, especially, that in the region the number of people over 60 years of
age increased in the last 10 years, observing the changes registered at the national
level. Other important results were observed in the indices of total fertility rate (which
presented a decrease) and in the HDI Education dimension, whose results are below
the national and state averages. It was concluded that observation and follow-up
by public agencies and private institutions are necessary in order to obtain a better
positioning of actions regarding the promotion of policies and practices for regional
development directed to this region. The improvement in the quality of life, which had
as a consequence the increase in life expectancy of the population, makes the results
obtained can be justified.
