• Abstract: This paper reviews significant advancements in functional neurosurgery over the last two decades. We highlight the development and application of techniques such as deep brain stimulation, minimally invasive epilepsy surgery, and neuromodulation. Additionally, we explore the pivotal role of imaging technologies in enhancing the precision of functional neurosurgical procedures. Although these advancements have revolutionized the field, they also present new challenges that require further research and scrutiny.
