Abstract: Nowadays, youth has it easy when it comes to finding information regarding sexual health. However, we don’t have the assurance that they pick the correct one and, consequently, that their choices are the most adequate having, thus, sexual education to play a relevant role in screening the information (Ramiro, Reis, Gaspar de Matos, Diniz & Simões, 2011). The pertinency of the present study relates to the fact that sexuality is a fundamental dimension of human life and that it is consensual for the scientific community that teenagers are a risk group and of priority intervention (GTES, 2007; Oliveira & Chagas, 2010; Costa, 2015). The title of the Paper is “Adolescent with Sense: impact of a structured intervention in beliefs and attitudes on affections and sexuality”. The goals of the study are: • To know the principles and values on affections and sexuality of the students from a school of the central region; • To know the attitudes and beliefs on affections and sexuality of the students from a school of the central region; • To evaluate the impact of a structured intervention in beliefs and attitudes on affections and sexuality of the students from a school of the central region. This study gave rise to the following investigation questions: • What are the principles and values on affections and sexuality of the students from a school of the central region? • What are the attitudes and beliefs on affections and sexuality of the students from a school of the central region? • What is the impact of a structured intervention in beliefs and attitudes on affections and sexuality of the students from a school of the central region? It was determined for the final work of the degree a transversal study, regarding time, pre and post teste type, near experimental, regarding the variable control, using a quantitative methology, regarding the data treatment method. The population were the students of the 9th grade, from a middle school on the central region, with a sample of forty-three students. The instrument used was a questionnaire. There were formulated some questions on Principles and Values(PV), on Attitudes and Beliefs on Affections and Sexuality (ACAS) and we even applied a questionnaire on the Beliefs and Attitudes on Sexuality and Sexual Education (QACSES from Carvalho and Pinheiro, 2012) in two moments: before and after the intervention. This study was authorized by the General Direction of Education, with the informed consent from both the parents and the students. The data treatment was realized recurring to SPSS 24.0. After the application of the formulated questions, we obtained relevant statistical results in three of the evaluated indicators in PV: “We are all special, unique and irreplaceable” (ρ=0,001), “We are all worthy people” (ρ<0,001) and “Dignity is never lost” (ρ<0,001). As well as in ACAS, we also obtained statistical significance on some indicators “The main reasons that bring adolescents/young not initiating an active sexual life, is”: “Not being ready for it yet” (ρ=0,010); “Affection is mutual understanding” (ρ=0,011); “Sexuality is communication” (ρ=0,032). As for the QACSES questionnaire, we even got statistical significance for the following indicators: “When girls say “no” they actually mean “yes”” (ρ=0,001); “Having control over the other’s behavior is normal on a dating relationship” (ρ=0,001); “Preventing a pregnancy is a girls’ responsibility” (ρ=0,016); “When on birth control pills, there’s no need to wear a condom” (ρ=0,027); “It looks bad for girls to walk around with condoms in their purse” (ρ=0,009); “The way girls dress tells a lot about what they expect from men” (ρ=0,001); “There is only a sexual relation when there is penetration” (ρ<0,001) and “To watch over the others’ cell phone is normal, when you like somebody” (ρ=0,018). That way, we can conclude that, after the intervention, there was an improvement on the Principles and Values and on the Attitudes and Beliefs on Affection and Sexuality.
