ADOÇÃO DE ESTRATÉGIAS EM ESTABELECIMENTOS RURAIS EM JOAÍMA, MG: PROBLEMAS E PERSPECTIVAS
O presente trabalho analisa se
produtores rurais de leite do município de
Joaíma, estado de Minas Gerais, adotam
estratégias para o desenvolvimento dos seus
estabelecimentos, tendo em vista a possibilidade
de sustentação das suas atividades, inclusive
pela transformação da sua produção, o que
poderia contribuir para a geração de emprego e
renda no município. Foram realizadas entrevistas
com vinte e sete produtores rurais, técnicos
da Prefeitura Municipal de Joaíma, técnicos
do escritório local da Empresa de Assistência
Técnica e Extensão Rural do Estado de Minas
Gerais – Emater-MG lotados da organização e
com lideranças representativas dos produtores
locais. Os resultados alcançados apontam
que os produtores não demonstraram possuir
estratégias individuais e nem coletivas de
desenvolvimento dos seus negócios, apesar de
terem sugerido que para a continuidade deles
e dos negócios agropecuários deles devem ser
priorizadas ações associadas a capacitação e
acesso a recursos.

Abstract:
The present study analyses if
some dairy producers in Joaíma, a small town
in Minas Gerais State, adopt strategies for the
development of their properties, considering the
possibility of sustaining their activities, including
the transformation of their production, which
could contribute for the generation of employment
and income in the municipality. Interviews were
conducted with twenty-seven rural producers,
and technicians from the Joaíma City Hall, and
technicians from the local office of the Technical
Assistance and Rural Extension Company of
the State of Minas Gerais (Emater-MG), and
with leaders representing local producers. The
results indicate that the producers did not appear
get any individual or collective strategies for the
development of their businesses, although they
have suggested that for their continuity and their
agricultural businesses, priority should be given
to actions associated with capacity building and
access to resources.
