• Abstract: Projects, as temporary efforts to create unique products, services, or results, are distinguished from regular operations by their specific nature and results. Effective management of these requires dedicated resource allocation and risk mitigation. This study focuses on developing guidelines for project management in social sciences, using a mixed methodology that includes literature review and focus group discussions. A comprehensive review of project management literature was conducted, followed by focus group discussions with project managers. This approach made it possible to identify specific practices and challenges in project management in social sciences. The phases of the life cycle of a project in social sciences were identified: conception and initiation, definition and planning, execution, monitoring and control, and evaluation and closure. Each phase was adapted to the peculiarities of the social field, incorporating specialized techniques such as stakeholder analysis, participatory planning and Social Impact Assessment (SIA). The study demonstrates the need to adapt project management phases and techniques to sociocultural dynamics and community participation in social sciences. The findings suggest that project managers should employ a flexible and adaptive approach, integrating advanced technologies and inclusive leadership to improve project efficiency and impact.
