ACOMETIMENTO DO SISTEMA NERVOSO CENTRAL E PERIFÉRICO POR ARBOVÍROSES NO BRASIL: UMA REVISÃO

• Abstract:

  In Brazil, the three arboviruses

  pathogenic: Dengue, Chikungunya and

  Zika stand out. Dengue and Zika (ZIKV) are

  viruses belonging to the genus flavivirus and a

  chikungunya to the genus alphavirus, being that

  they are among the most important emerging

  viruses of man. The literature proves, in reports,

  between the moved between the arbovirus and

  the involvement of the central and peripheral

  nervous system. The present article is a review

  of the last 5 years to discuss the contents of

  the central and peripheral nervous system by

  arbovirosis, based on an online VHL Brazil

  library. In the searches, the following descriptors

  were used: Arbovirus; Central nervous system;

  Peripheral nervous system. After reading titles

  and abstracts, 6 articles were included in this

  review after using the following criteria: have less

  than 5 years of publication and be available for

  consultation. Syntactically, it has been found that

  the reemergence of dengue has been observed

  since the mid-1980s, whereas the emergence

  of the Zika virus and the chikungunya occurred

  much more recently. As a result, there was an

  increase in the number of cases of encephalitis and meningoencephalitis in patients

  with dengue in Brazil, in addition to other neurological manifestations, such as Guillain-

  Barré syndrome (GBS), multiple peripheral paralysis, peripheral facial paralysis. The

  complications caused by the Zika virus were related to cases of microcephaly and

  GBS. Given this scenario, the importance of reporting and investigating suspected

  cases and associated neurological manifestations is highlighted.
