Abstract: Inflammatory mammary carcinoma (IMC) is a rare mammary neoplasm characterized by an unusual clinical presentation and rapid, aggressive progression. This report aimed to describe the clinical and anatomopathological findings of IMC in a female dog. A seven-year-old bitch was referred for clinical evaluation with a one-month history of mammary changes. Physical examination revealed diffuse enlargement of the mammary tissue forming a plaque-like area, with indistinct glandular boundaries, as well as teat edema, cutaneous ulceration, exudation, erythema, hyperthermia, and marked pain. Additional findings included apathy, anorexia, dehydration, pulmonary crackles, dyspnea, popliteal lymph node hypertrophy, pelvic limb edema, ambulatory difficulty, and ulceration of the metacarpal and digital footpads of the right thoracic limb. Due to the severity of the condition, the owner opted for euthanasia, and the patient underwent necropsy. Histopathological analysis confirmed the diagnosis of inflammatory mammary carcinoma, with metastases to the popliteal lymph node, footpads, lungs, and intrathoracic ligaments. In conclusion, IMC should be considered a differential diagnosis in bitches presenting with acute and extensive inflammatory processes involving the mammary glands.
