Abstract: In the world, approximately 50 million diagnosed individuals live with cancer. On average, there are about 10.0 million deaths annually, and 19.3 million new cancer cases emerge each year worldwide. Due to the persistent incidence of neoplasms and the high mortality rates, it is necessary to study the potential effects of natural active principles with anticancer properties found in plants. Objective: This systematic literature review aims to analyze and evaluate data supporting the fact that the substance ginsenoside Rg3 inhibits tumor angiogenesis. Methodology: The PICOT strategy (Population-P, Intervention-I, Comparison-C, Outcome-O, and Study Type-T) was used to formulate the research question: How does ginsenoside Rg3 suppress tumor angiogenesis? To answer this question, articles were searched in PubMed and Science Direct databases using specified descriptors and Boolean operators as detailed in the "Methodology" section. The authors applied strict exclusion and eligibility criteria among studies. Results: The data indicated a reduction in proliferation of colon cancer cells, anti-angiogenic action, increased survival in mice with lung cancer, and decreased tumor tissue volume with the use of the analyzed substance. Conclusion: It was observed that Rg3 exerts anticancer action and reduces tumor angiogenesis, as evidenced in both in vivo and in vitro experiments. Additionally, ginsenoside Rg3 could inhibit the multiplication of colon cancer cells, enhance anti-tumor effects related to colorectal cancer, and suppress the growth of lung cancer-associated tumors. Moreover, Rg3 contributes to autophagy and apoptosis of breast cancer cells and hepatocellular carcinoma cells
