ABORDAGENS TERAPÊUTICAS E PREVENTIVAS EMERGENTES PARA A COVID-19 E PAPEL DO FARMACÊUTICO FRENTE À PANDEMIA: UMA REVISÃO
Introdução: A pandemia da COVID-19 apresenta impactos socio-econômicos importantes, sendo uma das maiores crises de saúde da atualidade. Nesse contexto, o farmacêutico possui habilidades que junto à equipe multidisciplinar podem determinar melhorias no perfil epidemiológico da doença. Objetivos: Discorrer sobre as terapias emergentes para o tratamento e preventivas da COVID-19 e a atuação do farmacêutico no âmbito gerencial e assistencial frente à pandemia. Método: Revisão narrativa de literatura de caráter descritivo e qualitativo em que foram elencados artigos publicados entre dezembro e junho de 2020 no idioma inglês que tratem das possíveis abordagens terapêuticas e preventivas contra a COVID-19 elencando a participação do farmacêutico nesse contexto. Dezessete artigos foram selecionados após pesquisa após pesquisa nas seguintes bases de indexação da saúde SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), Pubmed (US National Library of Medicine – NLM) e ScienceDirect, Scopus. Resultados e Discussão: Muitas são as terapias emergentes que trazem resultados positivos sobre os fármacos utilizados em âmbito pré-clínico ou clínico, tendo destaque também a imunoterapia, como potenciais candidatos curativos e preventivos contra a COVID-19. Entretanto, por se tratar de uma doença emergente há necessidade de estudos clínicos conclusivos. Neste contexto, muitos profissionais de saúde têm se empenhado, dentre eles o farmacêutico, que atua além do fornecimento de insumos e medicamentos, em atividades preventivas e educativas para a população e outros profissionais de saúde visando diminuir o contágio. Além disso, pode prestar cuidados diretos ao paciente visando uma farmacoterapia racional e eficaz no manejo dos sintomas. Conclusão: Através da sua atuação, o farmacêutico está apto a coadjuvar com outros profissionais na prevenção da COVID-19 e na prestação de serviços de saúde de qualidade àqueles pacientes já diagnosticados com a patologia.

Abstract:
Introduction: The COVID-19 pandemic has important socio-economic impacts, being one of the biggest health crises today. In this context, the pharmacist has skills that together with the multidisciplinary team can determine improvements in the epidemiological profile of the disease. Aim: To discuss the emerging therapies for the treatment and prevention of COVID-19 and the role of the pharmacist in the managerial and assistance scope in the face of the pandemic. Method: Narrative review of literature of a descriptive and qualitative character in which articles published between December and June 2020 in English were listed that address possible therapeutic and preventive approaches against COVID-19, listing the participation of the pharmacist in this context. Seventeen articles were selected after research after research on the following health indexing bases, SciELO (Scientific Electronic Library Online), Pubmed (US National Library of Medicine - NLM) and ScienceDirect, Scopus. Results and Discussion: Many are the emerging therapies that bring positive results on the drugs used in the preclinical or clinical scope, also highlighting immunotherapy, as potential curative and preventive candidates against COVID-19. However, as it is an emerging disease, there is a need for conclusive clinical studies. In this context, many health professionals have engaged, among them the pharmacist, who acts in addition to the supply of supplies and medicines, in preventive and educational activities for the population and other health professionals to reduce contagion. In addition, it can provide direct patient care aiming at a rational and effective pharmacotherapy in the management of symptoms. Conclusion: Through its performance, the pharmacist can assist with other professionals in the prevention of COVID-19 and in the provision of quality health services to those patients already diagnosed with the pathology.
