Abstract: This study aimed to carry out an integrative literature review, systematizing approaches performed by the multidisciplinary health team in service users who have arterial hypertension, assisted by Primary Health Care, through the Unified Health System. Searches were carried out in LILACS, SciELO and PubMed. In the end, nine articles were selected, read in full, and carefully reviewed. The results point to the importance of health education, with a positive approach to encouraging adherence to treatment. It can be concluded that group education actions and specialized home guidance had a positive effect on the educational process of patients with arterial hypertension and there are several strategies available to face low adherence, with emphasis on those that promote information, with greater interaction professional-patient and aimed at changing behavior. However, it is necessary to break with the approach of the conventional model of health education, so that users value and recognize the importance of group educational activities, and consequently, increase adherence.
