Abstract: This article presents a discussion regarding the relationships established between memory and objects. It aims to highlight the abebé - ritual fan - as an object representing a place of memory, the result of the collective memory of black people in the context of Candomblé. To this end, was used productions were as a theoretical basis: Nora (1993); Bastide (1971); Halbwabachs (1990; 2004). The analyzes of the abebé point to a place of feminine memory that happens in a relational way, always starting from a sociocultural context. In this way, the text achieved the production of a collective memory of the feminine built in the terreiros of Candomblé based on the mythology of Yemanjá and her mythical objects.
