A VULNERABILIDADE SOCIAL NO ENTORNO DOS GRANDES PROJETOS NA AMAZÔNIA: O CASO DE PARAUAPEBAS NO ESTADO DO PARÁ- BRASIL.
A inserção da Amazônia na divisão internacional do trabalho reservou para a região o papel de fornecedora de recursos naturais e de controle do excedente populacional. Neste contexto diversas frentes econômicas compuseram essa lógica de desenvolvimento regional: o mineral, a madeireira, a agrícola, a energética e a urbana. As conseqüências no ordenamento territorial dessas transformações podem ser traduzidas na expansão por toda a região de uma racionalidade direcionada pela idéia de modernidade. O objetivo do estudo é apresentar os contrastes sócios- espaciais da cidade de Parauapebas, no sudeste paraense, onde áreas de urbanização surgem de forma espontânea e acelerada, devido ao processo de migração e de concentração de capital. No entanto, o surgimento de vários bairros em “áreas de risco” agrava a vulnerabilidade social de diversas famílias, criando uma distorção dentro do espaço urbano local.

Abstract:
The integration of the Amazon, in the international division of labor allocated to the region's role as a provider of natural resources and to control the surplus population. In this context, a number of fronts comprised the economic logic of regional development: the mineral, timber, agriculture, energy and urban. The consequences of these changes in the organization of the territory must be included in the expansion of the entire region, rationality, directed by the idea of modernity. The aimof the study is to present the socio-spatial contrasts of the city of Parauapebas in the southeast of the state of Pará where urban areas are spontaneously and due to the acceleration of migration and concentration of capital. However, the emergence of several neighborhoods in the "risk areas" exacerbates the social vulnerability of families, creating a distortion in the urban local.
