Abstract: The opportunity to be in the field provides students of Agronomy with the expansion of their social vision and understanding of the ways of life of the agricultural population. With this in mind, allowing field experience with family farmers is an interdisciplinary strategy to correctly train the Agricultural Engineer, given that the southeastern region of Pará has an extensive area of settlements, some in the beginning and others consolidated. That is why the Agronomy course at the Federal University of South and Southeast Pará provides the Internship of Experience (or field experience) for its students, allowing them to better understand their social training process and know how to help them manage their activities rural. Such experience provides a break from the ethnocentric and dichotomous view to a broader view from the understanding of the culture of a people and its dynamics, thus changing the way of seeing the world. The social interpretation must be tested, revised and confronted. During the experience on a rural property carried out in the years 2017 and 2018, observations were made, and after identifying the problems in the area, the students were able to present intervention proposals to improve the production and conduct of activities. Thus, practices such as internship/experience, visitation or others, are of paramount importance so that the student can be the subject of the reconstruction of knowledge through the critique of the lived reality.
