A Violência Obstétrica, a vulnerabilidade da mulher e suas consequências.
Objetivos: Analisar a vivência da
parturição pelas mulheres brasileiras e detectar
as possíveis causas que desencadeiam a
Violência Obstétrica (VO). Método: Revisão
integrativa de literatura com buscas na Biblioteca
Virtual em Saúde (BVS), de 2005 a 2015, em
português, e bibliografia complementar jurídica
e da saúde. Resultados/ Discussão: Condutas
obstétricas podem se tornar violentas diante
da vulnerabilidade da mulher, acarretandolhe
danos físicos, morais e sexuais. O avanço
tecnológico, a situação econômica, a formação
acadêmica e o déficit no manejo emocional
dos profissionais de saúde contribuem para que
as mulheres sejam tratadas com descaso às
suas manifestações da dor, angústia e medos,
e com discriminações social, ética e cultural.
Reflexões sobre a criminalidade e a punição
da VO no Brasil. Conclusão: A VO pode ser
combatida com a participação conjunta da
paciente e equipe de enfermagem que devem
estar capacitadas e instrumentalizadas.

Abstract:
Objectives: To analyze the
experience of parturition by Brazilian women
and to detect the possible causes that trigger
Obstetric Violence. Method: Integrative literature
review with searches in the Virtual Health
Library, from 2005 to 2015, in Portuguese, and
complementary legal and health bibliography.
Results/ Discussion: Obstetric behavior can
become violent due to women's vulnerability,
causing physical, moral and sexual harm.
Technological advancement, economic status,
academic education and a deficit in the emotional
management of health professionals contribute
to women being treated with disregard for their
manifestations of pain, anguish and fears, and
with social, ethical and cultural discrimination.
Reflections on the criminality and punishment
of Obstetric Violence in Brazil. Objectives: To
analyze the experience of parturition by Brazilian
women and to detect the possible causes
that trigger Obstetric Violence. Conclusion:
Obstetric Violence can be countered with the joint participation of the patient and the
nursing staff who must be trained and instrumentalized.
