A VIOLÊNCIA CONTRA IDOSO ENTRE 2013 E 2017 NO MUNICÍPIO PORTO ALEGRE
A população idosa apresenta
elevado crescimento anual no Brasil devido ao
aumento da expectativa de vida dos indivíduos.
Pesquisas apontam que 5% a 10% dos idosos
ao redor do mundo sofrem violência e a cada
10 minutos um idoso é agredido em nosso país.
A violência na velhice é um ato desumano, um
problema social, político e de saúde. O presente
estudo tem como intuito analisar o perfil dos
idosos que sofreram violência no município de
Porto Alegre entre os anos de 2013 a 2017.
Trata-se de uma pesquisa documental de
cunho quantitativo, utilizando dados registrados
no Datasus. O número de casos de violência,
notificados no município de Porto Alegre entre
2013 e 2017, foi 574 e 0,5% destes foram a
óbitos. Constatou-se que no período citado
houve um elevado aumento nos crimes contra
idosos no município, sendo a maioria das
vítimas mulheres e o principal agressor advém
do seio familiar ou até mesmo daqueles que
são remunerados para prestar-lhes serviços
assistenciais. Os casos de maus tratos de
natureza física foram os mais recorrentes.
Diante desse cenário reforça-se a necessidade
de promover campanhas de conscientização
e levar orientações acerca da violência contra
os idosos, a fim de prevenir que seus direitos
sejam violados.

Abstract:
The elderly population presents high annual growth in Brazil due to the
increase of life expectancy of the individuals. Research shows that 5% to 10% of
the elderly around the world suffer violence and every 10 minutes an elderly person
is assaulted in our country. Violence in old age is an inhuman act; a social, political
and health problem. The present study aims to analyze the profile of the elderly who
suffered violence in the city of Porto Alegre between the years of 2013 to 2017. This
is a quantitative documentary research, using data recorded in Datasus. The number
of reported cases of violence in the city of Porto Alegre between 2013 and 2017 was
574, where 0.5% of these were deaths. It was found that in the mentioned period there
was a large increase in crimes against the elderly in the municipality, with the majority
of victims being women and the main aggressor coming from the family or even from
those who are paid to provide them with care services. Cases of physical abuse were
the most recurrent. In this scenario, the need to promote awareness-raising campaigns
and guidance on violence against the elderly is reinforced in order to prevent their
rights being violated.
