A UTILIZAÇÃO DE INDICADORES AMBIENTAIS NAS RELAÇÕES DOS SERES VIVOS COM O MEIO AMBIENTE
Questões socioambientais como
clima, poluição e qualidade de vida são temáticas
constantemente debatidas em organizações e
conferências mundiais, devido ao aumento da
emissão de poluentes e utilização exagerada de
recursos naturais. Portanto, a utilização de seres
vivos como indicadores de alteração ambiental,
pelo biomonitoramento, se torna muito oportuna
e eficiente. Sendo assim, este artigo apresenta
a relação entre seres vivos e o meio ambiente, a
partir da utilização de indicadores de qualidade
ambiental, para sensibilizar e salientar a
relevância de questões ambientais para a
sociedade. Para isso, realizou-se um minicurso
com alunos de graduação, na XXII Semana
Acadêmica do Centro de Ciências Sociais e
Educação (UEPA), em que foram apresentados
três tipos de poluição (hídrica, atmosférica e
de solos), relacionando com seus respectivos
bioindicadores, gerando uma reflexão acerca
da influência de poluentes no ciclo de vida
dos seres vivos. Analisou-se, através de
questionários, a participação dos alunos em
minicursos, em que 82% dos alunos não havia
participado de atividades sobre bioindicadores,
e 44% dos destes discentes esperaram adquirir
e aprimorar conhecimentos sobre a temática.
Por fim, foi possível analisar com o minicurso as
concepções dos alunos e sua a compreensão
a respeito de como os seres vivos podem
ser afetados pelos poluentes, além de 62,5%
alegaram que a realização do minicurso
contribuiu significativamente para entender a
relação entre seres vivos e o meio ambiente.
Portanto, o trabalho ressalta a importância da
educação ambiental no contexto social, a fim
de propiciar o pensamento crítico relacionado a
questões socioambientais.

Abstract:
Socio-environmental issues such
as climate, use of natural resources, pollution and
quality of life are themes constantly discussed
in organizations and world conferences, due to
the increase on the emission of pollutants and
overuse of natural resources. Therefore, the use
of living beings as indicators of environmental
change, as a form of biomonitoring, becomes
very timely and efficient. As a result, the present
article discusses the relationship between living
beings and the environment, based on the use of environmental quality indicators,
in order to raise awareness and highlight the relevance of environmental issues to
society. For this purpose, a mini-course was held with undergraduate students at the
XXII Semana Acadêmica do Centro de Ciências Sociais e Educação (UEPA), in which
three types of pollution were presented (water, atmospheric and soil), related to their
respective bioindicators*, generating a reflection on the influence of pollutants on the
life cycle of certain living beings. The participation of the students in the mini-course
was analyzed through questionnaires, in which 82% of them did not participate in
activities about bioindicators, and 44% hoped to acquire and improve knowledge about
bioindicators. Finally, it was possible to analyze with the mini-course the students’
conceptions and their understanding about how living beings can be affected by the
pollutants, and 62.5% said that the mini-course performance contributed significantly to
understand the relationship between living beings and the environment. Therefore, the
article emphasizes the importance of environmental education in the social context, in
order to awaken a critical thinking related to social and environmental issues
