A UTILIZAÇÃO DA HISTÓRIA ORAL COMO INSTRUMENTO DE PESQUISA NO EXÉRCITO BRASILEIRO
A preocupação básica deste estudo é mostrar a influência da história oral como componente da historiografia contemporânea do Exército Brasileiro. Este artigo tem como objetivos: analisar a história oral como metodologia de pesquisa historiográfica e verificar a utilização da história oral como forma de resgate histórico e produção textual no Exército Brasileiro. Realizou-se uma pesquisa bibliográfica em acervos e na internet considerando as contribuições de autores como Alberti (1989), Meihy (1996) e Thompson (1992), entre outros, procurando verificar a relação entre memória e história oral no decorrer do processo histórico. Concluiu-se que, enquanto um método e prática no campo do conhecimento histórico, a história oral abre um leque de possibilidades para ampliar os conhecimentos acerca da relação entre história e memória. Isso pode ser verificado nos diversos temas pesquisados nos últimos anos que contribuíram para o resgate histórico de diversos setores da sociedade mundial já que o processo de documentação oral, através de entrevistas, é um documento historicamente válido e importante quando se pretende contar a narrativa de uma sociedade. Falando no âmbito Exército Brasileiro, constatou-se a grande contribuição da história oral no resgate à memória da instituição por meio do Projeto História Oral do Exército. O projeto consolidou entrevistas com personalidades em torno de temas como: evolução da engenharia militar e artilharia de costa; memórias das operações de paz e da 2ª Guerra Mundial; relatos acerca do Projeto Rondon e outros.

Abstract:
The main concern of this study is to show the influence of oral history as a component of contemporary historiography of the Brazilian Army. This article aims to analyze oral history as historiographic research methodology and verify the use of oral history as a form of historical rescue and textual production in the Brazilian Army. A bibliographic research was carried out in collections and on the Internet, considering the contributions of authors such as Alberti (1989), Meihy (1996) and Thompson (1992), among others, trying to verify the relationship between memory and oral history in the course of the historical process. It was concluded that, as a method and practice in the field of historical knowledge, oral history opens up a range of possibilities to increase knowledge about the relation between history and memory. This can be verified in the several themes researched in the last years that contributed to the historical rescue of several sectors of the world society since the process of oral documentation through interviews is a historically valid and important document when one intends to tell the narrative of a society. Speaking in the scope of Brazilian Army, it was verified the great contribution of the oral history in the rescue to the memory of the institution through the Oral History Project of the Army. The project consolidated interviews with personalities around themes such as: evolution of military engineering and coast artillery; Memories of peace operations and World War II; Reports about the Rondon Project and others.
