Abstract: Analyzing the scientific articles presented reveals the importance of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) in the treatment of mental disorders, especially in contexts such as the COVID-19 pandemic, which has exacerbated symptoms of anxiety, depression, and substance dependence. CBT has been shown to be effective in both face-to-face interventions and digital formats, such as e-CBT, standing out as a fundamental approach to reducing symptom severity and improving quality of life in various populations, including older adults, patients with early psychosis, and the elderly with symptoms of anxiety. In addition to CBT, other therapeutic approaches, such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), have shown promise, especially for older populations, aligning with trends related to accepting emotions more and reevaluating personal values. E-psychotherapy has also been effective in various conditions, including disorders related to the COVID-19 pandemic, such as stress, anxiety, and depression. E-CBT, guided by therapists, can offer additional benefits in terms of patient outcomes, cost reduction, and increased capacity for care. The introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) platforms in clinical practice represents a significant evolution in mental health care. AI can assist therapists by providing insights and support in clinical decision-making, contributing to a more effective and efficient approach. Although there is not yet widespread implementation of AI systems in behavioral health care, the results of an ongoing randomized clinical trial will indicate whether AI can optimize health outcomes for patients. In summary, CBT continues to play a central role in the treatment of a variety of mental disorders, including anxiety, depression, and substance dependence. However, complementary approaches, such as ACT, and the use of digital technologies, including e-psychotherapy and AI, are becoming increasingly important in the current mental health landscape, offering new treatment possibilities and support for patients and therapists.
