Abstract: Rainfall simulators are equipments with the intention of producing artificial rain similar to natural rain, being possible to control the intensity, speed and frequency of the drops when it collides with the soil surface, with the presence of a vegetation cover or not. The objective of this article is to know, from a bibliometric review (Part I) associated with an integrative review, the researches that used rain simulator within the period 2010 to 2020. With this, it allows a greater compression of the importance of these equipments for a varied range of studies on the runoff of water, the process of soil erosion, the dragging of sediments, pollutants and microorganisms, among others. In addition to evaluating and synthesizing the content of academic production on rain simulators and verifying the progress achieved over time.
