A SUSTENTABILIDADE AMBIENTAL NA PERSPECTIVA DA CIÊNCIA GEOGRÁFICA
O trabalho que segue teve o objetivo de apresentar uma discussão sobre sustentabilidade, a fim de tentar entender um pouco mais sobre as problemáticas que envolvem o conceito da sustentabilidade ambiental, valorizando a perspectiva ecológica e, assim, da importância da visão sistêmica e dos fluxos de energia e matéria na natureza. Diante da complexidade do tema, o texto oferece apenas uma aproximação com a temática e tenta buscar nas raízes da ciência moderna os motivos que produziu a visão que separa dois elementos de uma mesma natureza, ou seja, seres humanos e natureza. Ao mesmo tempo, resgatando entendimentos sobre a ecologia e a diversidade da natureza, a fim de entender como se dão os processos naturais, busca-se entender como se dá o equilíbrio ecológico e demonstrar que a natureza não pode mais ser encarada de maneira dualista, pois essa concepção está prejudicando não apenas o meio natural, mas está promovendo a manutenção das relações de poder, ao mesmo tempo que um desarranjo na natureza, os quais afetam diretamente a qualidade da vida humana. Diante dessas premissas, este texto não pretende emitir juízos morais sobre as condutas da sociedade capitalista, tampouco apresentar um ambientalismo cego, mas pretende contribuir com discussões e entendimentos sobre a importância de se ter como objetivo o “resgate” da humanidade original “perdida” e de se promover maior sustentabilidade ambiental e igualdade entre os seres humanos.

Abstract:
The work that follows had the objective of presenting a discussion on sustainability, in order to try to understand a little more about the issues surrounding the concept of environmental sustainability, valuing the ecological perspective and, thus, the importance of the systemic view and the flows of energy and matter in nature. In view of the complexity of the theme, the text offers only an approximation to the theme and tries to search in the roots of modern science the reasons that produced the vision that separates two elements of the same nature, that is, human beings and nature. At the same time, rescuing understandings about ecology and the diversity of nature, in order to understand how natural processes occur, we seek to understand how ecological balance occurs and demonstrate that nature can no longer be viewed in a dualistic way, because this conception is harming not only the natural environment, but it is promoting the maintenance of power relations, at the same time as a breakdown in nature, which directly affect the quality of human life. Given these premises, this text does not intend to issue moral judgments about the behaviors of capitalist society, nor does it present a blind environmentalism, but it intends to contribute with discussions and understandings about the importance of having as a goal the "rescue" of the original "lost" humanity and promoting greater environmental sustainability and equality between human beings.
