Abstract: The COVID-19 pandemic significantly impacted the lives of Brazilian healthcare professionals involved in its containment. To understand this impact, a study employing a broad concept of health was conducted. This report presents findings related to physical aspects, including diet, overall health, and physical activity among these professionals. A mixed-methods (quanti-qualitative) research design was used, yielding 394 responses. Alterations in food and alcohol intake, as well as changes in physical activity levels, were observed. The study also revealed diagnoses of new diseases (mental health disorders, metabolic diseases, and hypertension), leading to increased reliance on other healthcare professionals and a higher consumption of vitamin supplements and some medications for COVID-19 without proven efficacy. Therefore, the results reinforce the negative impact of the pandemic on the health of these healthcare professionals.
