• Abstract: Introduction: The use of artificial intelligence in the fight against cancer presents itself as an indispensable tool for modern medicine, enhancing early diagnosis and providing more personalized and efficient treatments. Objective: To analyze and synthesize the current state of the application of artificial intelligence in cancer diagnosis and treatment. Methodology: This is an integrative literature review. Data were collected in October 2024 through searches in the MEDLINE, WPRO, IBECS, and LILACS databases. For this search, the following Health Sciences Descriptors (DeCS) were used: “Artificial Intelligence,” “Comprehensive Healthcare,” and “Cancer.” Data were collected with the help of the Rayyane software and extracted using a specific instrument. The research covered the period from 2019 to 2024. Results and Discussion: The application of artificial intelligence in cancer diagnosis and treatment marks a significant advance in current medicine. With its ability to process large volumes of data and detect subtle patterns, machine learning algorithms can enhance the accuracy and efficiency of early detection, prognosis, and therapies. This study analyzes the successful use of artificial intelligence in areas such as imaging diagnosis, lesion classification, and prediction of clinical outcomes. However, the implementation of these technologies requires not only technical improvements but also consideration of ethical, regulatory, and financial aspects. Conclusion: Artificial intelligence complements clinical expertise, offering tools that assist in decision-making, with the potential to make cancer diagnosis and treatment more accurate and effective.
