A REPRESENTAÇÃO DA IMAGEM DO SUJEITO NEGRO NOS LIVROS DIDÁTICOS ANTES E APÓS A LEI N° 10.639/03
O presente artigo tem como objetivo
discutir os impactos da Lei 10.639/03, que
estabelece a obrigatoriedade do ensino da
História e Cultura Afro-Brasileira e Africana nos
estabelecimentos educacionais do país, na
representação da imagem do sujeito negro nos
livros didáticos. Para tanto, foram selecionadas
algumas obras publicadas de 1980 a 2013 a
fim de analisar como foi abordada a temática
ao longo desse período. Os resultados dessa
análise evidenciam que a significativa mudança
na qualidade dos livros decorre da relação entre
editoras e governo federal que se estabelece
a partir 1985, por meio do Programa Nacional
do Livro Didático (PNLD), período em que o
Estado passa a ser o maior comprador de livros
didáticos no Brasil.

Abstract:
This article aims to discuss the
impacts of Law 10.639 / 03, which establishes
the obligation to teach Afro - Brazilian and African
History and Culture in the country’s educational
establishments, in the image representation of
the black subject in textbooks. In order to do so,
some works published from 1980 to 2013 were
selected in order to analyze how the theme was
approached during this period. The results of
this analysis show that the significant change in
the quality of books stems from the relationship
between publishers and the federal government
established since 1985, through the National
Program of Didactic Book (PNLD), during which
time the state becomes the largest buyer of
textbooks in Brazil.
