A RELIGIÃO E O CRESCIMENTO ECONÔMICO: UMA ANÁLISE PARA O PARANÁ DE 1991 A 2010
Diversos estudos investigam os
determinantes do crescimento econômico,
além dos modelos tradicionais que consideram
trabalho, capital fixo e humano, existem
formulações que incluem fatores culturais
para analisar essa relação. Ao se remeter às
questões culturais, a religião é uma das variáveis
que mais modifica os indivíduos, pois fornece
aos seus adeptos, formas de conduta de vida.
Assim, este trabalho objetivou verificar se uma
proporção maior de protestantes possui relação
positiva com a renda per capita. Os resultados
mostram que a expansão do protestantismo foi
um fator econômico positivo e contribuiu para
melhorar o nível de renda no estado do Paraná.

Abstract:
Several studies investigate the
determinants of economic growth, in addition to
the traditional models that consider labor, fixed
capital and human, there are formulations that
include cultural factors to analyze this relation.
When referring to cultural issues, religion is one
of the variables that most modifies individuals,
as it provides its adherents with forms of life
conduct. Thus, this study aimed to verify if a
higher proportion of Protestants has a positive
relation with per capita income. The results
show that the expansion of Protestantism was
a positive economic factor and contributed to
improving the state’s income level.
