Abstract: Childhood vaccination is one of the most effective public health interventions for preventing infectious diseases and reducing child mortality. By stimulating children’s immune systems to produce antibodies against specific pathogens, vaccines protect against serious diseases such as measles, polio, whooping cough, and meningitis. They also benefit vulnerable groups such as the elderly and individuals with medical contraindications. Although the efficacy and safety of vaccines are widely recognized, vaccination coverage is still insufficient in many countries, which contributes to the re-emergence of preventable diseases. This scenario highlights the importance of effective public policies and awareness campaigns to promote adherence to childhood vaccination. Technological advances have been fundamental in improving the efficacy of vaccines, enabling the protection not only of children but also of the general population, resulting in reduced infant mortality rates and improved quality of life.
