A RELEVÂNCIA DA ABORDAGEM MULTIDISCIPLINAR NA REABILITAÇÃO DE PACIENTES PORTADORES DE FISSURA LABIOPALATINA
As fissuras labiopalatinas (FLP) são fendas interpostas entre as estruturas do palato primário e/ou secundário, decorrentes da fusão incompleta dos processos palatinos e nasais mediais. No que tange a questão etiológica, muitos fatores têm sido descritos pela literatura, todavia, é consenso entre a comunidade científica a dificuldade de afirmar categoricamente o fator desencadeante de cada caso. Ademais, o cenário brasileiro, no que diz respeito à questão dos casos de pacientes com FLP, mostra números significativamente altos, o que a torna um problema de saúde pública. As FLP, portanto, são malformações complexas que exigem atenção de uma equipe multidisciplinar para agir em prol do bem estar funcional, estético e social do paciente.

Abstract:
Lip and palate clefts are fissures situated between the structures of the primary and secondary palates, they occur due the incomplete fusion of maxillary and nasomedial processes. Many possible etiological factors have been described in studies, but it’s still hard to affirm the role of them in each case. In Brazil, there is a high number of cleft lip and palate (CLP) cases, which makes it a national public health problem. CLP are complex malformations that require attention from a multidisciplinary team for the treatment involving the functional, aesthetic and social well-being of the patient.
