Abstract: This paper analyzes the production and organization of contemporary urban space through a dialectical approach between state planning, spontaneous expansion, and the commodification of the city driven by the logic of capital. Methodologically, the investigation is based on empirical data collected during an interdisciplinary Fieldwork carried out between June 22 and 24, 2018, supported by the theoretical framework of Critical and Urban Geography (Lefebvre, Harvey, Carlos). The study proposes a comparative analysis based on three city matrices: the planned city (Brasília-DF), the unplanned city (Valparaíso de Goiás, Vila Estrutural, and Vila Santa Luzia), and colonial-matrix cities (Pirenópolis and Corumbá de Goiás). The results reveal that the action of capitalist forces engenders severe processes of socio-spatial segregation, urban spoliation, and civil vulnerability in the metropolitan peripheries, evidenced by the transition of the "Estrutural" dumpsite and the "architecture of fear". In contrast, in colonial cities, the appropriation of land and cultural heritage by tourist activities is observed, redefining the place's exchange value. It is concluded that the expropriation of the "right to the city" marginalizes the working classes, demanding the recognition of their resistance practices and the redefinition of urban dwelling.
