A PRIMEIRA YESHIVÁ DO BRASIL - UM OLHAR SOBRE AS MEMÓRIAS E SABERES DOS MESTRES DE UMA HISTÓRIA
O presente artigo tem como objetivo contar a história da primeira Escola Rabínica da América Latina, localizada na cidade do Rio de Janeiro. As possibilidades dialógicas intergeracionais iniciam-se com a chegada em 1954, de Chaim Benjamini, rabino sobrevivente do campo de concentração alemão de Bergen-Belsen, considerado por seus pares, um homem ideológico e observante das tradições, cultura e fé de seu povo. O objetivo inicial, presente na fundação da Yeshivá Machané Israel foi criar uma escola com formação integral, em regime de internato, onde jovens judeus pudessem vivenciar a experiência prática com o judaísmo. Uma Casa, em que o verbo é ressignificado em interpenetrações entre o passado e o presente, memória e história. A ideia do estudo aqui proposto é conhecer e aprofundar-se na memória e história de professores que atuaram no processo de constituição da Yeshivá. A pesquisa é composta por uma investigação qualitativa, de cunho etnográfico. Apoia-se na análise documental e em entrevistas semi-estruturadas, realizadas com fundadores e docentes da Yeshivá. O referencial teórico está fundamentado em Benjamin (2012), no qual o trabalho do historiador não é apenas o conhecimento dos fatos passados enquanto realidades presas a uma história finalizada, mas a poética sobrevivência no/do presente, capaz de articular e produzir sentido em nossa existência. Assinala-se, de igual modo, o diálogo apresentado por Certeau (2014), entre passado e futuro, fundamentais para a construção da escrita historiográfica. Os resultados apontam o compromisso, por parte dos docentes, em reverberar a cultura de seu povo. E, nesse sentido, pode-se concluir o importante papel da Yeshivá na tessitura que compõem as narrativas identitárias, dessa pequena comunidade.

Abstract:
This article aims to tell the story of the first Rabbinical School in Latin America, located in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The intergenerational dialogical possibilities began in 1954 with the arrival of Chaim Benjamini, a rabbi who survived the German Concentration Camp of Bergen-Belsen, considered by his peers, an ideological man and observant of the traditions, culture and faith of his people. The initial objective, present in Yeshivá Machané Israel’s Foundation, was to create a school with integral training, on a boarding school regime, where young jews could have practical experience with judaism. A House, in which the verb is resigned in interpenetrations between past and present, memory and history. The idea of the study proposed here is to know and deepen the memory and history of teachers who acted in the process of the constitution of Yeshivá. The research is composed of a qualitative investigation, on an ethnographic subject; and it is relying on documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews with Yeshivá founders and professors. The theoretical reference is based on Benjamin (2012), in which the work of the historian is not only the knowledge of past facts while realities attached to a finalized history, but the poetics of survival in the present, capable of articulating and producing meaning into our existence. It is pointed out, likewise, the dialogue presented by Certeau (2014), regarding past and future, fundamental for the construction of historiographic writing. The results point to the commitment of the teachers to reverberate the culture of their people. And, in this context, it can be concluded the important role of Yeshivá in the composition that characterizes the identity narratives of this small community.
