Abstract: The present article is part of the studies of the thesis research in progress, which addresses the performance of Caxambu, Black Cultural Patrimony of Brazil, as a decolonial action strategy for an anti-racist education. In this excerpt, we seek to present caxambu in its insurgency dynamics verified in its performative rite, which through the relationships arising from the black people enslaved in the African diaspora, was present in the yard of coffee farms in the southeast region in the sec. XIX and remains active in contemporary Caxambuzeiras/Jongueiras communities. From the perspective of a tradition endorsed in an Africa invented on Brazilian soil and based on elements present in philosophy and cosmoperception in Africa, which guide its relationship with the world through ancestry and collective knowledge, an approximation with the decolonial studies proposing critical reflections on the hegemony of rational thought, imposed by the modern world system, which hierarchizes and feeds the epistemicide of “other” knowledge and “other” ways of thinking about the world. In this way, in order to constitute a front to combat the subalternization of knowledge and based on the legal frameworks that establish the mandatory inclusion of the History of Africa and Afro-Brazilian culture in the curricula of Basic Education in Brazil, we present the insurgency of caxambu as a methodological tool for an anti-racist education, in order to build a legitimate experience of alterity, necessary for the mitigation of Brazilian structural racism, in which valuing traditional knowledge and its holders, the masters of the Caxambuzeira tradition, we can reveal paths and new ways of being and inhabiting the world.
