A MÚSICA E O INGLÊS DE MÃOS DADAS NA “TARDE CULTURAL”: UM RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA NA ESCOLA MUNICIPAL ROTARY NO MUNICÍPIO DE MOSSORÓ-RN
Este artigo trata-se de um relato de experiência sobre um trabalho desenvolvido em uma escola pública do município de Mossoró/RN, idealizado por dois professores dos anos finais do Ensino Fundamental da rede municipal de ensino. Com o objetivo de usar a música como ferramenta metodológica no ensino aprendizagem da língua inglesa, desenvolvemos um projeto que une o desejo de ampliar o vocabulário de uma língua estrangeira ao prazer de fazer isso através da música. Intitulado ‘Tarde Cultural’, o projeto possibilita ao aluno aprender um vasto leque de novas palavras através de músicas em inglês que serão apresentadas por meio de performances e expressões corporais para outros alunos, professores, gestores e pais em uma tarde cheia de emoção, superação e cultura. Vendo a música como instrumento motivador para a aprendizagem do inglês na sala de aula, utilizamos uma metodologia voltada para despertar nos alunos suas potencialidades e talentos com aulas dinâmicas e cheias de empolgação, usamos a disputa entre meninos e meninas como uma das estratégias motivacionais para as apresentações na culminância do projeto. Além disso deixamos que os alunos abusassem da criatividade para apresentar a música escolhida pelo grupo. Chegada a hora da apresentação da tarde cultural, nos foi possível comprovar o sucesso do trabalho, com talentos revelados, alunos emocionalmente envolvidos e o objetivo alcançado.

Abstract:
This article is an experience report about a work developed in a public school in the municipality of Mossoró / RN, idealized by two teachers from the final grades of the municipal school system. With the aim of using music as a methodological tool in teaching English language learning, we have developed a project that unites the desire to expand the vocabulary of a foreign language to the pleasure of doing so through music. Entitled 'Tarde Cultural', the project allows the student to learn a wide range of new words through songs in English that will be presented through performances and expressions for other students, teachers, managers and parents in an afternoon full of emotion, overcoming and culture. Seeing music as a motivational tool for learning English in the classroom, we use a methodology aimed at awakening in students their potentialities and talents with dynamic and full of excitement, we use the dispute between boys and girls as one of the motivational strategies for presentations at the culmination of the project. In addition we let the students abuse the creativity to present the music chosen by the group. When it was time for the cultural afternoon presentation, we were able to prove the success of the work, with revealed talents, emotionally involved students and the goal achieved.
